Does this sound like you?

  • You feel trapped by a highly restrictive elimination diet, eating the exact same few foods every single day because you are terrified of a flare-up.

  • You feel frustrated because your list of "safe foods" keeps getting smaller, and you're scared to try anything new.

  • You feel isolated and anxious about missing out on dinner dates, weddings, or travelling on public transport because you never know when you will need to rush to the toilet.

  • You feel embarrassed because you don’t know if the next meal that you eat will trigger a skin flare or a migraine that sends you to a darkened room for days.

  • You feel exhausted from planning, preparing, and worrying about every single meal while everyone else seems to eat without thinking.

You are not alone, you are not crazy. Your struggles are completely real, and there is a way forward.

Hi, I’m Liz Beavis - Food Intolerance Dietitian

Liz Beavis - Food Intolerance and Gut Health Dietitian. A woman with glasses, earrings, and a big smile, wearing a red textured top, standing against a white wooden wall.

As an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Accredited Nutritionist with a Master of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Sydney, I have spent over 25 years helping people navigate complex health issues (including IBS, eczema, migraines, behavioural issues in kids) and find a way forward when they felt stuck.

My expertise keeps you safe because I don’t get sidetracked by passing health fads, focusing instead on solid research and premium clinical tools. Having walked my own path through chronic health struggles and food intolerances, I combine deep scientific strategy with the genuine empathy you deserve.

My approach is different because I don't believe your goal should be staying on a restrictive diet forever. Instead, I work to understand what's driving your symptoms and help you rebuild confidence with food in a safe, evidence-based way. Having experienced food intolerances myself, I also understand how overwhelming and isolating they can feel.

Patients often tell me: "Thank you for taking the time to explain everything so clearly. I finally feel heard, and my test results actually make sense."

Many people struggle with symptoms (such as IBS, eczema, migraines, behavioural issues in kids) that are triggered by the foods they eat.

I can help you to identify your food intolerances and complex gut issues so you can get back to enjoying food and life again!

With more than 20 years of experience in Private Practice supporting people to improve their health, I love to focus on this poorly understood area, providing support to clients all over Australia (and beyond).

My Approach

Three step approach

No matter what health issues you need support with, I follow a 3 step approach to help you achieve your health goals. But this is no cookie-cutter approach! It is important to me that each consultation and plan is individualised to your needs, so I focus your care with the steps that are most relevant to you

My 3 step strategy is

  • Start with strategies to reduce your symptoms - so you feel better

  • Next, work out what factors trigger your symptoms - so you are in control

  • And finally (and most importantly) utilise strategies that help to support your body and your gut so that you are able to broaden your diet again without symptoms, and get back to enjoying food again!

FAQs

I’ve tried everything. How is this different?

1

Many of my clients have already seen multiple practitioners before they come to me, so I totally get that you may be worried about spending more money to hear the same story. Rather than randomly trying supplements or another restrictive diet, I follow a clear, step-by-step process to understand what's driving your symptoms. Every recommendation has a purpose, and I'll explain each step so you always know why we're doing it, helping you move past temporary diets and into long-term health.

What if I continue to follow a restrictive diet?

2

If nothing changes and you keep following a restrictive diet to manage your symptoms, you’ll likely find yourself still following a restrictive diet in 1 year (or even 5-10 years) time. Unfortunately for many people, their diet becomes even more restrictive over time, making social events harder, limiting nutrition, and creating more stress around food. The sooner we understand what's happening, the sooner we can start working towards expanding your food choices and helping you enjoy eating again.
